As a Psychologist and Therapist, Dr M. B. S. Niranjala Fernando provides MSE testing, Therapy and clinical counseling services to assess and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. She uses the science of psychology to treat complex human problems and promote change. She also promotes resilience and helps people discover their strengths.
PARTICIPATION IN CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) PROGRAMS,
The (CPD) programs have been conducted at NAA Niranga Academy of Arts and other institutions with extended courses and short courses as a resource person for more than 30 years.
RELEVANT PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES IN SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS.
After qualifying with a doctorate degree PhD, Prof. Dr. Niranjala has service experience as a senior lecturer at NAA Child protection project Sri Lanka, and that is an educational program about child protection and development, both mentally and physically.
This project has been conducted from the year 2015 to the year 2019, by delivering seminars, workshops, and staff development programs, (in government and private sectors) etc. The project has been approved by the Family Health Bureau, Ministry of Health Sri Lanka,

INTRODUCTION OF NEW COURSES / PROGRAMS
Curriculum Planning and development of the course “Diploma in Behavioral Science of Psychology and Counselling” (18 month course) at Global Institute of Counseling Professionals, which is accepted and registered under the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC)
Development of tutorials and other materials for professional courses – “Higher Professional Diploma in Behavioral Science of Psychology and Counselling”
Project Planning and development programs annually for the GIOCP international associations
Strengthening research capacity of students for project work and research under GIOCP faculty of social development based on psychological counselling.
Introducing schedules and academic discipline to students since 1987 up to now
TRANSITIONING TO DUAL DELIVERY OF LESSONS
Preparation and use of audio and video study materials for preparation for dual delivery of lessons, particularly with a view to distance education needs.
Created and developed student monitoring methods for online and distance education.
